About Me

A little about me…

My name is Colleen Kowalski and I am a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Cleveland State University. I  have a passion for creating and curating unique and eye catching content for a variety of brands.

I am interested in content creation, social media marketing, brand management, and event planning and have over 10 years of experience in digital marketing.

I have worked extensively in the B2B, Lifestyle, Hospitality, and professional business services industries, and have gained valuable experience from each industry.

Content Manager, Exit Planning Institute | 2020 – 2024

As the Content Manager at Exit Planning Institute, I was responsible for managing all content and ensuring proper brand standards are met across all marketing and sales materials. My primary duties included writing 3-4 weekly blogs for EPI’s website, managing all social media platforms for EPI, the Exit Planning Summit, and the EPI President’s accounts, and producing the Exit Is Now Podcast.

I grew the EPI brand across all social media platforms and successfully increased their following by over 100% in less than one year. I also delivered weekly email newsletters, researched trending topics in the exit planning industry, and created in-depth white papers, case studies, and infographics that have been downloaded over 90,000 times. In addition to my work being published on EPIs platforms, my work has been featured in Forbes, Entrepreneur, and Inc digital publications.

Utilizing my background in hospitality and lifestyle marketing, I was asked to join a small committee to plan and execute the largest Exit Planning Summit in company history in 2022. After the success of both the 2022 Exit Planning Summit and the significant positive impact of my written work, I was welcomed as a featured speaker for the 2023 Exit Planning Summit and led a deep-dive session for over 150 attendees on the benefits of a strong integrated marketing strategy.

Event Manager – Social Media Manager – Lead Navigator, Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel | 2018 – 2020

As an Event Manager at The Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel, I was responsible for planning and detailing numerous corporate and social meetings and events. I was the main point of contact for clients, meeting planners, and large corporations with events on property and became proficient in using CI/TY to plan and detail events. I improved the hotel’s Event Satisfaction Survey (ESS) Scores for Ease of Planning, Planning Responsiveness, and Overall Event Experience while in this role.

As the Lead Navigator and Social Media Manager for the Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel as well as the two restaurants on property, The Heights and Brim House, I was responsible for detailing and executing social media initiatives, including live social events. As the Social Media Manager I was responsible for all photography and videography in addition to all copy for nine social media accounts. I also worked closely with Sales and Marketing, Beverage and Food, and Operations leaders on all property marketing initiatives. I increased followers, social engagement rates, and impressions across all platforms, and formed valuable relationships with influencers and small business owners in the Toledo area. As the Lead Navigator, I provided hotel guests with a personalized local experience based on their interests and needs, while highlighting hyper-local businesses and discoveries.

Content Marketing Intern, Briteskies | 2017 – 2018

As a marketing intern at Briteskies, I was responsible for creating, editing, and socially sharing blogs about e-Commerce web development and B2B e-Commerce. I also gained hands on experience with HubSpot in this position. In addition, I worked on the company’s brand relaunch in the summer of 2017. I updated business documents, webpages, and surveys with the new logo design, and helped organize the brand relaunch party. I also created, gathered, and analyzed data from the customer satisfaction survey.

Pink Campus Representative, Victoria’s Secret | 2016 – 2018

As a Cleveland State University Pink Campus Representative, I gained valuable experience in brand management and development as well as targeted  social media marketing. As a Pink Campus Rep, I was responsible for planning and executing creative and exciting promotional events for the Pink brand on Cleveland State’s campus. I also created content specific to our college market on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat. While I was a Pink Campus Rep, the Cleveland State accounts saw an increase in followers, impressions, and engagement. In addition to those roles, I communicated directly with merchandisers as a way for them to gain insight into what the typical Pink buyer is looking for in regards to trends, styles, and products.
